ABOUT VSC
Vemury Structural Consultancy Ltd (VSC) is a Newcastle based consultancy that provides various civil and structural engineering services as well as engineering education/training support. The firm offers structural design of new builds and renovation works associated with existing structures. While the consultancy’s portfolio of past projects consists mainly of building structures, there is the capacity and competency to offer professional guidance and support on schemes involving bridge structures.
The firm’s approach to design is an endeavour of realising safe and durable structures that are functional, adaptable and in keeping with the history of their sites and environments. VSC works very closely with clients and other professionals to ensure the successful completion of the schemes.
VSC also work collaboratively with engineering academics and researchers on research projects involving innovative engineering materials and sustainable design methods. VSC supervise engineering students research projects and collaborate with academic/research teams on research funding bids and journal publication.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Mr Chandra Mouli Vemury FHEA CEng MCIHT FSI FRSA founded VSC in September 2017. Chandra taught civil/structural engineering at world-class institutions, based in the UK, before establishing the design consultancy. Having read Structural Engineering at the University of Dundee in Scotland, he became a chartered engineer in 2014. He is currently serving on the Council of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) having joined the CIHT regional committee in 2017. Chandra has been an active member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) Northern Counties Regional committee since 2009. He also sits on the Construction Industry Council (CIC) North East committee.
Chandra is an engineer with a strong sense of socio-environmental consciousness. He served as the Chair of ‘Journey to Justice’ which is a human rights charity. He is currently serving as the Secretary of a voluntary organisation called ‘Share UK’. In February 2020, Chandra received an invitation to join the Board of Trustees of a transformational charity called 'Transition Network', which he accepted. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), a sustainability think-tank called the Schumacher Institute and the Royal Society of Arts.
